1. Do we need a Wisconsin fishing license?
All people 16 years and older need a license. There is a 2-day license with great lakes privileges available. The cost was $14.00 in 2007. Children under 16 do not require a license.
2. Can our kids come along?
Yes, it is very exciting for everyone to watch these children experience the fight involved with the landing of these fish. Last season one young child fought and landed a salmon that weighed over 20 lbs with the assistance of the captain and his family.
3. What type of clothing should we plan to bring?
Watch the weather forecast for the Kewaunee/Door County area and dress appropriately. You can count on it being cooler out on the lake than on shore.
Some items that would be suitable to bring along are:
· Rain gear
· Fall jacket
· Hooded sweatshirt
· Shorts
· Sunglasses
· Beverages
· Snacks
· Camera
· Favorite music CDs
4. Is there a chance I could get sea sick?
Yes, taking motion sickness medication the night before the charter will significantly reduce your chances of sea sickness. Taking the motion sickness medication immediately before the charter at times is not adequate.
5. What kind of weather will a charter go out in?
We fish in all types of weather, rain and rough seas DOES NOT stop Finn Addict from catching fish! We stay out until the guests decide to come in. WE DO NOT fish in unsafe conditions or electrical storms during these periods we seek safe harbor and continue the trip when conditions improve.
6. Are gratuities welcomed?
The captain and first mate work hard to put fish in the boat for our guests. Even though catching fish is at the mercy of the fish, we will always give 110% to increase your chances. Tipping is at the discretion of the guest and should be based, like always, on the quality of the service provided.
